Council is currently working with VicRoads, Buloke Shire and Loddon Shire towards the creation of a Road Safety Strategy for our region.
The Road Safety Strategy is working on the development of plans and programs which will assist in the improvement of road safety in the Gannawarra Shire.

The Black Spot Program works to reduce road accidents by treating problem areas. If you think there is a potential Black Spot in the Gannawarra Shire, you can pick up a Black Spot Nomination form from any Customer Service Office or visit the Black Spot Program.
Making school drop off and pick up safer
Traffic and safe parking around Victorian schools are significant issues for many schools and municipalities. The amount of school traffic and the complexity of the traffic environment during school pickup and drop off times, combined with dangerous driver behaviour can put children at risk.
To address this issue, VicRoads website now include information, practical case studies and parent/carer education materials to help schools, in partnership with local councils, improve the safety of children during school drop off and pick up times.
