Are you a business or community group operating a food van or stall which sells food in Victoria?
You need to know …
A new state-wide registration and notification scheme for temporary and mobile food premises applies under the Food Act 1984.
If you operate a food van, food stall, food vending machine or a water transport vehicle you need to register with your principal council.
Registration provides Council with information concerning the type of premises you wish to operate and how food is safely stored and prepared.
Once registered, you need to lodge a Statement of Trade with each Council at least 5 days prior to an event outlining where and when you intend to operate. No fees apply for lodging a Statement of Trade.
Your principal council is the council:
Streatrader is a new online database for temporary and mobile food operators which allows traders to register electronically with their principal Council.
You need to first set up a user account and then simply follow the prompts to complete your application online.
You must also lodge a Statement of Trade with each Council in which you intend to operate.
You can easily register by using the Streatrader website, which automatically determines and notifies your principal council. This website also allows you to lodge Statement of Trade documents.

Fees
Depending on the nature of your activity, a registration fee may be payable. Contact Council's health office on 5450-9333, or email eho@gannawarra.vic.gov.au for further information.
