What can it provide?

Meals on Wheels provides a nutritious meal delivered by volunteers to client homes. This service supports the client with personal and social contact.

Hot Meals

Availability & Delivery

Heating Instructions


A hot meal delivery consists of three courses; Soup, Main and Sweets with a Vitamin C supplement. Special diets are catered for eg: Low fat, gluten free, diabetic.

 


All meals are named and available Monday to Friday and Public holidays (with the exception of Christmas day, unless by prior arrangement).

Meals are usually delivered between:

11.15 – 12.15pm (Kerang)
11.30 – 12.30pm (Cohuna)

or are available for collection.

Meals must be eaten upon delivery, or placed in fridge to be reheated later on.



Meals are to be heated at 180C or 350 F for approx 20 mins or until hot.


 

Frozen Meals

Frozen meal deliveries are available and consist of two courses only. Special diets are catered for eg: Low fat, gluten free and diabetic.

 


Meals are usually delivered between:

11.15 – 12.15pm (Kerang)
11.30 – 12.30pm (Cohuna)

or are available for collection.


Leave meal in fridge to thaw.

Conventional oven: heat at 180C or 350 F for approx 20 mins or until hot.
Microwave oven: remove from foil container and heat until hot.

Please discard any uneaten portion of the meal and do not reheat.




What happens if i’m not home to receive my meal?

Please notify the Community Care Team if you require a meal to be cancelled or to make alternative arrangements. Health regulations prevent us from leaving meals in eskies or on outdoor tables.

How can I be referred?

You may refer yourself for Meals on Wheels. Referrals may also be received from doctors, hospitals, family, friends and neighbours.

Community Meals  

What can it provide?

Community Meal gatherings provide a nutritious meal whilst supporting clients with personal and social contact. Community Meals are held in Leitchville and Quambatook.

  • Leitchville Football Ground - 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of each month.
  • Quambatook Seniors Hall – Every Tuesday

Cost

3 Course meal         $6.70
2 Course meal         $5.90
Sandwiches             $2.90
