Gannawarra Shire Council has worked with the Country Fire Authority, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Victoria Police, Parks Victoria and the Country Fire Authority on the Municipal Fire Management Plan Committee to engage other key stakeholders to enhance fire management planning in our Shire. The integrated fire management planning process has taken a team-based, holistic approach involving a wide range of stakeholders to manage the risk of fires in our Shire.
The process involved identifying fire hazards and associated risks, determining how likely they are to occur, and evaluating the loss of damage that could be caused by them, which may affect:
The draft Municipal Draft Management Plan was presented to the community for consultation and feedback, which was integrated into the final document adopted at the August 2012 Council meeting.

The Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Fire Management Plan has been released by the State Government following a long period of development, consultation and production. The Plan has been developed with a focus on risk management, community engagement, improved coordination of activities and the desire to strive for improvement in everything that we do in fire management.
