As many members of community groups will be aware, planning a community event requires a great deal of hard work. Event planning is not just a matter of selecting a venue and turning up on the day. There are all sorts of things to consider including security, provision for people with disabilities, signage, facilities, traffic management and parking.
Gannawarra Shire Council has produced a booklet called Event Management: A Safety Guide for Organisers of Events on Council Land to help community groups in organising their events and reducing their exposure to risk.
