| In accordance with section 8(3) of the Public Holidays Act 1993, the Minister for Small Business Mr Joe Helper MP has declared Tuesday 6 October 2009 as a full-day public holiday in the municipal district of
Gannawarra Shire.
The holiday, which celebrates the 125th Anniversary of the Kerang Show, has been declared a public holiday in lieu of the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday.
Melbourne Cup Day is not a public holiday in Gannawarra Shire in 2009.
All Council offices, including libraries, will be closed for the public holiday on Tuesday 6 October 2009.
