Gannawarra Shire Youth Council is excited to bring a FREE screening of the movie ‘Zootopia’ at the Kerang Swimming Pool!

Mayor Brian Gibson said the Youth Council have listened to the feedback of young people across the Shire and are responding with delivering events for people to attend.

“The Youth Council group are a proactive and passionate bunch of people who are committed to being able to improve the Gannawarra Shire for the future,” he said.

“This initiative is a fantastic way to provide entertainment for a wide range of people, and being free, its accessible for the entire community to attend.”

The movie screening will be on Friday 10 February and will include a free sausage sizzle.

“People are asked to bring a picnic blanket and you are welcome to bring a picnic hamper with you on the night, however please be mindful that there is to be no alcohol brought inside the pool precinct on the night,” Mayor Gibson said.

The movie will commence when it gets dark, hopefully around 9.00pm and is rated PG, with some mild themes and threat with some scenes that may scare young children.

‘Zootopia’ is set in a city of anthropomorphic animals and tells the story of a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox who must work together to uncover a conspiracy.

Gannawarra Youth Council made a decision last year that they are committed to combatting ‘boredom’ in the municipality, and are aiming to deliver more events in 2017. In addition, research is currently underway around art based activities to deliver, the feasibility of running a photography workshop, extending the paste up workshop to include Quambatook and Koondrook/Barham and running a screen printing workshop.
