Study help available through Studiosity and myWarra

Media Release

Gannawarra Library Service reminds local students that free homework support is offered through Studiosity and the local virtual youth space myWarra.

Acting Manager Libraries Tami Leggett said that hundreds of libraries, schools and universities partner with Studiosity to provide on demand study help to students.

“This is a great service,” said Mrs Leggett. “Help is available Sunday to Friday from 3pm to 10pm to assist with homework and study, quickly, right when help is needed.”

“In Gannawarra where so many students live out of town or have other commitments that make it difficult for them to attend homework clubs, Studiosity is a great way to ensure access to homework support.”

Studiosity provides online homework support by subject specialists in two ways:

1. The Connect Live Service, one-to-one, personal help in real time “I need help right now!”:
A student formulates their own question, then works with a subject specialist in the interactive classroom - with a chat feature, collaborative whiteboard, and file sharing platform. Help is available for all core subjects including Maths, English and Science.

2. Writing Feedback Service:
Students upload their essay writing assignment and constructive written feedback is provided in less than 24 hours. Subject specialists provide feedback that show students where they might focus attention and add more thought.

“To access Studiosity go tostudiosity.com/connect, select ‘find my library’ and use your Gannawarra Library barcode number to sign in for free,” explains Mrs Leggett. “If you don’t have a library card just come into the library and sign up.”

Local young people are also reminded that the myWarra website has a range of study tips including how to set up a proper study space and homework schedule and tips and resources for secondary studies and beyond. Access to Studiosity is also available via themyWarrawebsite.

MyWarra was developed and guided by the Gannawarra Shire Youth Council and funded by the VicHealth ‘Bright Futures Challenge’ project and Gannawarra Shire Council. The website was launched in August 2017.
