SHAKESPEARE COMING TO KOONDROOK – CAN YOU HELP?

Media Release

Gannawarra Shire Council are holding two open meetings for interested community members to offer their ideas for presenting the Shakespeare play ‘Twelfth Knight’ in Koondrook in February 2018.

Mayor Brian Gibson encourages the community to come along and provide input into the planning and preparation of this event.

“The previous Shakespeare performances in Koondrook have been hugely successful and provided the wider community with access to top quality performances on the banks of the beautiful Murray River.”

“Council is committed to partnering with the community, and has had proven success across the municipality by using this model of collaboration,” Mayor Gibson said.

“We are finding that people like to have more input into the shows, learn more about how to run an event and learn more about the artists and playwrights too, so we are keen to nurture this interest and enthusiasm.”

Council are seeking input so that we can support the interest and ideas and so that the community has some ownership over the performance.

There are two open community meetings being held and we encourage the residents to come along at a time that suits you.

Venue: Barook Seniors Hall

Meeting 1: Wednesday 1 November, 10.30-11.30am
