Gannawarra Shire Council encourages all senior community groups throughout the Shire to join the Seniors Advisory Group.

Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said that Council is very proud of the partnerships formed with each of the senior groups represented at the regular meetings.

“The Seniors Advisory Group is an opportunity for senior groups to network and have a voice on current and future projects that impact seniors within our Shire,” Mayor Learmonth said.

“Senior groups play a vital role within our local communities as they encourage social inclusion, skills development and improve members overall health and wellbeing.”

The Seniors Advisory Group meets quarterly at various locations throughout the Shire, with remaining meetings in 2019 scheduled for:

  • 9 May at Koondrook;
  • 8 August at Leitchville; and
  • 14 November at Cohuna.

“I strongly encourage all senior clubs to contact the Council if they are not registered to receive meeting notifications,” Mayor Learmonth said.

“If you would like further information about our meetings or the various Senior Groups available to join within our Shire, please call our Customer Service Centre on 5450 9333.”
