ROAD MANAGEMENT PLAN REINSTATED

MEDIA RELEASE

Gannawarra Shire Council has reinstated the Road Management Plan, effective 7 April 2017.

Council’s Director Infrastructure and Development Geoff Rollinson said Council’s ability to undertake inspections and maintenance works was severely impacted by the flood events late last year.

“Council staff has now completed the back log of works required on our road network from the event, therefore the Road Management Plan can be reinstated,” Mr Rollinson said.

Following the 2016 flood event a decision was made, in accordance with Section 35 of the Road Management Act, to suspend the time frames and responses relating to the Plan.

“Council will continue to work to identify, prioritise and repair road defects wherever possible.”
