Are you looking for something special to do those school holidays?

Do you feel like a laugh and want to have fun with your family?

If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, Gannawarra Shire Council has the solution for you.

Council is bringing Splash Test Dummies to Kerang on Thursday, 11 April, with the trio renowned for their comedy, improvisational skills and all-round fun.

“We really wanted to bring laughter to the Gannawarra these school holidays,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

Splash Test Dummies is a show that everyone can enjoy, so forget your worries for a few hours, take a break and head to the Kerang Memorial Hall.”

The 55-minute show will begin at 1pm, with tickets $16 for those five years and older. Children aged four and under may attend for free.

Local families have the opportunity to win free family passes to the show simply by liking and sharing a post on the event page on Facebook. Search ‘Gannawarra Shire Council’ on Facebook and head to our events section for more information. This has been made available thanks to support from the Gannawarra Community Resilience Committee.

In an added coup for the Shire, the Dummies will also run two workshops during the school holidays.

A Circus Skills workshop will be held at the Kerang Memorial Hall on Thursday, 11 April at 3pm, with the Cohuna Memorial Hall to host a Physical Theatre session on Friday, 12 April at 10am.

Both workshops are suitable for people aged seven and over, with admission $10.

“When skilled performers come to the Gannawarra and share their talents with us, we learn something new and aim for new heights,” Mayor Learmonth said.

Tickets to the Splash Test Dummies performance and workshops can be purchased from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang, or online at www.trybooking.com/YHKJ

Meanwhile, the Gannawarra Library Service will continue the circus theme, with Balloon Animals sessions scheduled for the Sir John Gorton Library, Kerang on Tuesday, 9 April at 2pm and the Cohuna Library on Thursday, 18 April at 11am. Bookings for both sessions are essential, which can be done by phoning (03) 5452 1546.
