Leitchville will be bustling with excitement late October when two community events take place.

Mayor Brian Gibson said two community events are scheduled to take place at the Leitchville Rural Transaction Centre on Tuesday October 30, 2018.

“The Gannawarra Library Service will host a Seniors High Tea as part of the celebrations for the 2018 Seniors Festival,” said Mayor Gibson.

“This will be a great opportunity for Leitchville to show off their new library which opened earlier this year.”

The Seniors High Tea event will start at 11:00am with community members encouraged to wear something sparkly to add to the occasion. A prize will be awarded for the ‘best bling’. Bookings are limited, so get in quick.

From 2:00pm on the same day, the official opening of the new Leitchville Community Garden will take place behind the Rural Transaction Centre.

“The Leitchville Community Garden is a new space that has been designed to connect the community,” explained Mayor Gibson.

“We hope this new shared space, which includes outdoor seating, activities and vegetable gardens will be enjoyed by Leitchville locals and visitors into the future.”

Light refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome to attend the garden opening.
