COUNCIL’S NEW MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH TEAM LEADER

Gannawarra Shire Council is pleased to welcome Robyn Burns as Maternal Child Health Team Leader.

Director Community Wellbeing Mandy Hutchinson said that Robyn will be a welcome addition to the organisation.

“Robyn has many years of experience as a Maternal Child Health nurse and also as a clinical nurse practitioner in the aged care field.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Robyn to our team to provide services to our local families and young children,” Ms Hutchinson said.

Robyn will be based at Cohuna on Mondays and Tuesdays and Kerang on Thursdays and Fridays.

“Robyn is very passionate about the health and wellbeing of children and their families,” said Ms Hutchinson.

“She will work closely with other health and support services to ensure that our young families receive the best possible care and that our children are provided with a great start to life.”

Maternal and Child health is a free family centred service for parents and carers with children from birth to school age.

Advice and support is available on a wide range of issues including child health and development, feeding and nutrition, parenting, sleep and settling, family planning and immunisation. Maternal and Child Health nurses can also refer families on for specialist assistance when needed.
