Australia’s most successful female playwright Hannie Rayson is on the road and coming to Lake Charm.

Her new one woman show ‘Hello, Beautiful!’ takes stories from her recent book of the same name and adds a few saucy tales that occurred to her later. Australian actress Noni Hazelhurst described it "as nourishing and delicious as homemade soup".

Mayor Brian Gibson says Council is excited to be bringing an Australian gem to the Shire.

"We are so proud to be delivering this event and we have high expectations as this show was unanimously chosen by our local community group who have assisted in our 2017 programming."

In this 60-minute show, Hannie gives an intimate look at her life and hilarious experiences.

"By partnering with our community groups, in this instance it’s the Mystic Melodies singing group who are helping organise and will also cater for the supper, we nurture our creative arts and I believe we are starting to see some really dynamic results," Mayor Gibson says.

"We are endeavouring to bring life to our halls and communities through the best quality theatre productions we can find," he said.

So get ready for a funny and personal evening with Australia’s most self-effacing, entertaining playwright.

The performance begins at 7.00pm, 13 May at the Lake Charm Hall and guests are invited to stay for a light supper afterwards and get your Hannie Rayson book signed by the author.
