Gannawarra Shire Council is pleased to be hosting author Darry Fraser at the Sir John Gorton library this summer.
Director Community Wellbeing Mandy Hutchinson says Ms Fraser is coming to Kerang as part of her book tour.
“We are thrilled to be hosting Ms Fraser in Gannawarra and avid local readers can enjoy listening to the author talk about her tale of suffragettes, post colonialism and the great Murray River,” says Ms Hutchinson.
Ms Fraser was born in Victoria and spent part of her childhood around the Murray River where her novel is set. Daughter of the Murray is an adventure romance set in the 1890’s on the Murray River around Swan Hill.
A recent poll of Gannawarra library patrons identified that our top ten most popular books for 2016 showed how our readers love an Australian rural setting so Ms Frasers story fits well with what our readers are wanting.
“I would really encourage the local community to attend, we are very lucky to be able to secure Ms Fraser to come to Kerang and speak to our community,” Ms Hutchinson said.
“Readers with a keen sense of history, who love romantic sagas and have an interest in strong women of yesteryear will truly enjoy listening to Ms Fraser speak.”
