CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA DAY WITH YOUR COMMUNITY
How do you celebrate Australia Day? Gannawarra Shire Council is encouraging residents to celebrate Australia Day at a number of community events on Thursday 26 January.
Mayor Brian Gibson said with a range of great Australia Day ambassadors and guest speakers, Australia Day 2017 will be a great community occasion to celebrate.
“Australia Day means something different to everyone, which is a reflection of our diversity,” Mayor Gibson said.
“It is a celebration of our achievements and values, and acknowledges our hopes for the future.”
Community celebrations have been planned in different parts of the community, including one evening celebration in Leitchville.
The nominees and winners of the Gannawarra Shire Council Australia Day awards will also be announced at each ceremony.
