2016/17 ANNUAL REPORT

Media Release

Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2016/17 Annual Report has been endorsed by Council and is now available to the public.

Council CEO Eric Braslis noted that the report highlights the past years success stories, while acknowledging the challenges that face the Shire in the coming years.

“Council has delivered a number of fantastic projects and services to the community over the past 12 months, including the Koondrook Wharf, Wells Bridge and an upgrade to the Sir John Gorton Library.”

“It has been another year of significant achievements which has seen the Gannawarra Shire further develop as a vibrant, connected and strong community. We have also seen the introduction of a new Council and the adoption of a new Council Plan which sets the framework for the next four years,” Mr Braslis said.

“While we highlight the positives, such as our waterways, environment and community partnerships, we also acknowledge the many challenges we face moving forward in the current environment of financial constraint,” Mr Braslis noted.

In addition to providing a statement of Council’s financial position at 30 June 2017, the document reports on Council’s operations and performance for the 2016/17 year.

The report is now available at the Kerang and Cohuna Council Offices or can be downloaded from Council’s website and electronic copies can be emailed on request.
